GENERAL INFORMATION
Manage your fan speed to get optimum performance resulting in energy saving an longer filter life. The Airex VFD controller reads the static pressure at the inlet of the dust collector, air makeup unit or any other system and signals the VFD to adjust fan speed accordingly.

THEORY OF OPERATION
HOW THE SPEEDFX, THE VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE [VFD] WORKS
Air has mass, and to move more air, the fan on your dust collector must work harder & faster to pull the airflow demanded.
When filters are clean, the airflow moves through the filter media at a fairly high rate. As filters load with dust, air can’t move through as easily, and the fan must work harder to supply appropriate airflow.
Most fan motors run constant, meaning their speed does not vary for resistance (static pressure) offered by the filters.
When fan speed is adjusted to accommodate resistance, the fan can run slower during times of low resistance and higher when necessary. The fan is set to operate at optimum airflow.
Only VFD’S with our controller adjust constantly and automatically.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Selection criteria of a SpeedFX variable frequency drive:
- This section is not applicable to the SpeedFX as it will adapt itself to any type of situation in which there is energy to be saved by modulating the fan speed, pump usage, etc.
